Regardless whether

Postby Nami Nami » Thu Dec 13, 2012 9:59 am

Dear teacher,

Below is a question I found on the Internet. I've got exactly the same question too. Thanks.

I am wondering whether the following sentence is correct or not. Can I omit the preposition or do I need to write "regardless of whether"?

"The speaker would always use a null pronouns, regardless whether she wants to refer to the subject or the object."

Yes, the 'of' is obligatory.
