Punctuation mark of a compound sentence

Dear teacher,

If one of the clauses of a compound sentence is a question, what punctuation mark should we use, e.g. something like:

Could you please complete this today and I will then send it out tomorrow.

Or we simply should not construct a sentence this way?

Not really grammar but...

Yes, you should indeed avoid combining such incompatible sentence-types (at least for formal/careful use)!
