What kind of color do you want?
and
What color do you want?
are two different questions.

What kind of color do you want?
I want a bright, vivid color that feels happy.

and
What color do you want?
I want yellow.

While he was having dinner he heard gunshot.

When he was young, Bob didn't use to read.
