May you tell me the meaning of bellow sentences?
1- He holds the record for traveling to all 192 of the globe's sovereign countries, and to all but six of the non-sovereign or other territories that existed in early 1996.
2- He is now down to just three remote islands to visit.

1. all but = all except
There were 10 eggs and I ate all but 2 of them.
( I ate 8 eggs.)
2. down to = all that remains
I used to be a millionaire but now I'm down to my last thousand.
(I had $1,000,000. Now I have $1,000.)
