One word that describes the SSALI experience is "family". Located in California's wine country north of San Francisco on the modern campus of California State University, Sonoma, near the Pacific Coast and the Redwood Forest.
Students who study at Sonoma State American Language Institute (SSALI) rave about the warm and supportive learning environment--and the teachers who give individual attention.
Students from over a dozen countries study together in small, individualized classes. Courses offered include grammar, composition, reading, communication, and electives such as pronunciation, vocabulary, iBT TOEFL preparation, English through Music, Business English, Service Learning, English through Movies, American Culture, and Conversation.
The campus of California State University provides students access to its state-of-the-art recreation center and information center, computer labs (all buildings are wifi), health center, and sports facilities.
Extra curricular activities include trips to San Francisco, Sacramento and 6 Flags Marine World; and short trips to local wineries, the beach, local fairs, movies and shopping, and the on-campus conversation partner program and intramural sports.
