the middle of nowhere

Meaning: If a place is in the middle of nowhere, it's far from where most people live.

For example:

  • My car broke down in the middle of nowhere, and I had to wait for hours before a truck arrived to tow it to the nearest town.

  • Why do you want to go there? It's in the middle of nowhere and there'll be nothing to do!
