The noun "space" can be both countable and uncountable.


Meaning: empty area, or the unused part of something
Example sentence: There wasn't enough space on my computer's hard-drive for all the movies I wanted to download.


Meaning: a particular area that has nothing in it
Example sentence: Thai language is difficult to read because there are no spaces between the words.

Note: The word "space" can also mean all of the universe that's outside our planet and its atmosphere. This meaning is uncountable.
