Meaning: to waste something, such as money or an opportunity

For example:

  • Adam got a lot of money after becoming a champion boxer, but he blew it all on fast cars, girls and bad business deals.

  • Jerome blew his chance to become a professional baseball player by taking illegal drugs and then failing a drugs test. He could have been a rich, successful athlete, but he blew it.
