hung-up

Meaning: (in phrase be hung-up on) to be overly concerned about something or someone

For example:

  • Why are people so hung-up on making lots of money? Wouldn't they be happier if they worked a bit less and spent more time with their family and friends?

  • Martin is really hung-up on looking young. He's in his forties and he still tries to look like a twenty-year-old boy.
