a rural person regarded as uneducated and mentally slow (n.) | provincial or rural (adj.)

For example

  • Billy Bob's hick relatives are here from their farm in the mountains. They came in their pick-up truck with their dogs and their guns.

  • When our car broke down, we were stuck in this hick town in the middle of nowhere for days. It was weird!

Note:
This is often regarded as an offensive term, so you need to be careful when using it.
