Meaning: something that must not be done

For example:

  • Wearing socks with sandals is a no-no for our kids. Their friends would tease them and say they looked ridiculous.

  • Kissing in public is a no-no in many Middle Eastern countries.

Note: almost always used with the indefinite article "a"
