Meaning: from a previous period, and usually highly-regarded

For example:

  • I like the Nintendo games that are old school the best, like Mario.

  • That song is an example of old-school rap at its best!

Note: Usually describes something from a previous generation or period of an art form, a technology, or a style, that's seen as being an important step in its development, such as "old school hip hop", "old school anime", "old school software", and so on.
