Meaning: pictures, photos, photographs

For example:

  • You can check out our holiday pix from France if you like. They're on our FaceBook page.

  • Have you seen the YouTube pix of Ronaldo and his friends on the beach in Rio?

Note: This word is an abbreviation of the plural noun "pictures", and its use is governed by the same grammatical rules that apply to any plural non-count noun. You cannot say "a pix", and you cannot further pluralize the word by adding "es". You can say "many pix" or "lots of pix", but not "lots of pixes".

Origin: short for "pictures"
