Hi everyone
In the following sentence -
You lift me up amongst the Gods.
Could it be argued that "up" is part of a prepositional phrase "up amongst" and not a particle to the verb lift. If I reverse the sentence to say - Up amongst the Gods you lift me. It still makes sense (Although sounds like Yoda) so does this mean I can call "up amongst" a prepositional phrase. Put a pause after lift so it's - You lift me - up amongst the Gods. Surely if it is said like this up forms part of up amongst???
Thanks , I hope I have made sense :?
