This has been causing a fiery debate among my colleagues. Which is really right?

"one and a half hour" or "one and a half hours"?

I badly need help.

it depends if it´s modifying a noun or not. if it stands on its own, then it´s "one and a half hours" but if it´s modifying a noun it´s "one and a half hour" for example :she took a one-and-a-half-hour bath"
I hope it helps

Hi,

I'd say "one hour and a half"... or "an hour and a half"

In the US, we would say "one and a half hours" (Yes, it's plural)
But, it is much more common to say "an hour and a half" as was previously posted.

Hope this helps:)

Hi blatant,

'one and a half hours' doesn't seem to be correct, even though some say it this way.
