need help (teaching EFL to young adults)

please help me find a solution to my problem.

I teach EFL to young adults (20 years old). They are not at all motivated, and, although they are supposed to have good knowledge of English, their levels vary from beginner to upper-intermediate. The curriculum is the same for everybody.
1. What should I do in order to motivate all of them?
2. How should I teach texts: read them aloud or just do silent reading and give comprehension questions?
