I think you could always refer to Brown, 2000: Principles of language learning and teaching, Tricia Hedge, 2000: Teaching and Learning in the language classroom and Celcie Murcia, 2001: Teaching English as a second or foreign language.

Inductive learning approach is also known as "discovery learning" which will always persuade learner to use more of the cognitive abilities. It opposses the deductive learning approach, which explaining explicitly on the language structures is essential. Inductive learning works effectively on creative learners who are high input generators with very high motivation and able to manage their own learning which will lead to the autnomous learning style. Therefore this type of good language learner will be less teacher dependent.
