mmmm hi all im new here and have a question
i have a sentence
There aren't ......... biscuits on this plate.
a)too much b)a lot c)enough d)some
I know the answer is c) but what is being tested in this question ...i need to explain what this sentence is testing for ....i know some is a determiner but the rest

1. It could be:
a. count and non-count nouns
We use much for non-count nouns. Biscuits are count nouns. We use - many.
b. a lot is missing "of"
d. Some and any
some - use in a positive statement
any - use in a negative statement. There aren't any biscuits....
