An indirect question is an embedded question - that is, question that is not in normal question form with a question mark; it occurs within another statement or question and generally follows statement structure, eg:
We don't know what we should do. (What should we do?)
I don't know where he went. (Where did he go?)
Can you tell me where it is? (Where is it?)
They haven't decided whether they should come. (Should we go?)
