World’s Oldest Living Couple Celebrates Their 80th Anniversary
John Henderson (age 106) and Charlotte Henderson (age 105) are recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest couple in the world. Last week, their senior living community threw them a party to celebrate their 80th wedding anniversary. The two met in college in 1934 and married five years later. Both are still happy and healthy. According to John, the secret to a long life is to live in moderation. The official date of their anniversary is December 22nd, and John will celebrate his 107th birthday on December 24th.

Dutch Scientists Developing Artificial Womb
Scientists in the Netherlands have been given a large grant towards the research and development of the world’s first artificial womb for humans. The scientists believe that artificial wombs will be able to save premature babies within ten years. Approximately 1 million babies die each year due to complications from preterm birth. The artificial womb would allow the preterm baby to receive oxygen and nutrients through the umbilical cord, providing more natural conditions for the final weeks of development.
