The report is about one member of parliament who was asked to leave as she brought her son to the workplace. Hassan did that because there was a nursery in that area. Hassan thinks that the Kenyan government should set an example for private companies by providing family-friendly workspaces. I personally can’t agree with Hassan, as she just made an excuse there and tried to defend herself by leading to the context that people would support. The government has already given a family allowance every month and year to its workers; hence, the government does not really have any responsibility for childcare facilities.

Now a days, All family members are forced to work due to high cost of living. Women has to look after children and manage other household duties. And for a working women this becomes an additional responsibility . These days, at house these responsibilities are carried out jointly by all family members. So at work place , its the duty of government or employer to provide basic necessities like day care facility / providing benefits in the form of perks.
In most of the big cities, day care facility is provided by the big corporate for their employees. It is highly convenient for the employees as its saves their time & stress resulting in enhance productivity of the employees.Government should allocate some funds from their budgets to provide such facilities to ease the life of people for their nation.

Hi Tara,
First of all thanks for this interesting article.
As a worker, i have seen my female colleagues spending hard time dealing with their children for there was no childcare in the company and they hadn’t found a sitter to care about their children. Owing to that I do agree parliament and companies should offer family friendly workspaces. The reason it’s that your employees can feel home at their work site and by the way it can increase their commitment to the company and of course their performance.
My best wishes. -

Hi Tara,
First, thank you for this week’s audio news report.
Second, I could understand the subject without seeing the text and could fill in the blanks all words except the word “their”.
Third, the subject is usual for many women around the world.
In some countries, there are many nurseries that women can use them for their children when they are at work.Fourth, it’s so interesting subject for me because I had never heard about the subject in one parliament.
It’s so obvious that no one can bring a five-month-old baby to the parliament, but the MP did it.Thank you, Teacher Tara for telling us about interesting news.
Best wishes,
Bijan from the Persian Gulf -

Workers have to reconcile their works with their social and family time, so companies should help with it.
The Parliament is the most representative entity in the country, so they should set a good example to their citizens. Obviosly, private companies should collaborate alike.
