Have you ever lied????

Post by Butler »

Ok honesty time, how many people here have lied. I mean lied to benefit themselves or to be kind to someone else. Or worse than that a complete lie to look like a better person.

I used to lie to my patients. some patients were suffering from awesome diseases, if they were strong at minds, I would tell them about the state of illness; but if they were sensitive and weak, I would lie to them so that they could live in a relatively nice mood.

So I vote for 3

Yes, it happens me regularly, but for good reasons.

I know that it’s a bad habit but some time I do it to not hurt people's feelings especially the one that I love them a lot . i think that its not a good idea to tell the truth all the time

I second that! :)

You know we ( me and my friends) sometimes tease each other by saying that "Stupidity doesn't hurt, but the truth does."

How do you like it? ;)

You know, I will lie if I say that I don't lie. But, as Shokin said, only for good reasons.

There are no men on earth that can say: "No, I've never lied" If I ever heard an answer like that, I'd just laugh very hard.

Everybody lies, either for one reason or another. ;)

Lalee, you've got to laugh at Dixie since she stated that she never lies.

Would you do that?

Does that mean you have never ever told a single lie to anyone and even to yourself, your feelings? ;)

C'mon, Dixie! You don't live on a different planet, do you?

Poor Dixie...getting attacked from all sides....I bet she does lie but I bet she does it for a greater good..like to protect her loved ones..I know we ALL do that from time to time...is it wrong?? Who's to say...as long as you don't hurt those close to you then that should be all that matters...Dixie I am on your side. !

Ahile and Lalee,

I didn't say I have never lied. We all have at some point of our lives. What I said is, and please re-read my previous post, is "I never lie". That means, I don't have the habit of doing it (contrary to other people, I see   ). It's hard for me to tell a lie. Moreover, why would I want to? :P

Hello Dixie,

In fact, I don't want to "attack" you by your stating you never lie. I am just wondering how it could be possible that one can live without lying. ;)

You don't mind me nagging, do you?

In my humble opinion, The sentence " I never lie ", especially when it stands alone, can mean both that you have never lied before and neither will in the future. Or it can simply mean, since the sentence is written in simple present, that it is a universal truth.

A brief sentence analysis, eh?

Let's ask Butler what he means by writing " I never lie!" :)

The "I never lie" was of course a trap...I mean I have never ever met a person that never lied...we all do it for whatever reason...but we all do it.

LOL! Not necessary. It occurs to people that they sometimes just let it slip.

Should we create a brand new saying which is " You live and lie if not all the time, now and then."

OK or not OK?

¡Truly people!

Lie is part ot the life, no matter if it is a little lie or a big one. the fact is that all people lie.
[quote"Dixie"]Me, I never lie I am not good at it. I would be caught immediately [/quote]

Dear, maybe yo did it and you didn´t noticed.
Example:
You go out with your BF and suddenly you began to fight, to argue for anything, both get very hungry and decide to return home. Both walk but not talk, then a very very hansome guy cross the street, he is the most handose you have seen in all your life, almost a dream, you forget that you werw angry and see him as if he were a greek god. Your BF impressioned see you and ask you very very angry "Why are you see him", then Dixie who never lie say:.............?
Maybe: I´m not see him
I think he could be my cousin
What?
or another LIE, or simply you don´t say nothing
Remember that to be in silent not to mean lie, but could mean not to be sincerely.
