Perhaps you think I am a bit romantic but I tell you my own experience about presents to parents. Some days ago I went to the hospital with my father to the usual checkup. When I opened my vallet to pay the bus ticket my father could see that inside there was his photograph. He didn´t say anything but after some minutes I could notice his sparkling eyes right to me. It had been the cheapest present I had ever made but the most important for my father.
