Do the following sentences make sense to you?

If you see him, you would think that they are related, but unfortunately they don't.

No...there is a grammar related problem here,it should be:
"If you see him, you will think that they are related,but unfortunately,they dont."
The 1st conditional should be used. We talk about things which might happen in the future.
