Technology helpful or not?

Post by brucecy » Fri May 08, 2020 7:30 am

I'm interested to know what teachers and learners of English think about technology and its use in the classroom. There are many benefits to technology and yet technology can be isolating and people may have less time to learn through conversation and interaction with others. What do you see as the benefits to technology use? What are the problems with it? If I am planning an ESL lesson, what role should technology play?

I think technology is very beneficial. In the social distancing, it is technology that keeps people engaged and entertained. Also in terms of learning, remote classrooms using video conferencing is helping a lot.

Many people frown upon social media, but those help a lot to learn. For example, reading, watching, material online help learn English though pattern learning. Most of the online material are technology based, such as social media, latest technology based sited and social media. There are many online video resources in the internet today on how to learn English. We can combine those resources and stream the videos to build a virtual smart class room to facilitate modern form of technology based remote teaching.
