Wow, this is cool. How often do you all have your meeting? If it's more than once a week then try to discuss what you should do for the next meeting. For example, working on English problems that each one of you brings up to the group; trying to do the exercises in your English textbooks together; making up dialogues so you could practice speaking, pronunciation, writing and reading; playing English games together; making small conversations in English and et cetera. There are a lot of ways to practice your English during club's meetings. Just be creative and discuss the ideas with your club members. And also try to speak your native language as little as possible. If you keep forgetting then try to pretend that each one of you doesn't each other's language. Like wear a name tag that says "I'm Australian or Chinese or Mongolian." And you all have to do some research to give out the information of the country you're pretending to be to your club members in English. Thus, learning about English plus learning about other cultures. What do you think?

how to make a forum more interesting? maybe a better way is: to unstick some stuck topics.

that way, everyone has chances to get his/her post to the upper station.

Sometimes, some topics should be stuck in order to pull members' attention, such as anouncements, rules, etc. however, as time gose by, many stuck topics lose their previous meanings, then they should be unstuck.

IMHO, each of members is equal. too many stuck topics always remind members of some priviledge or power.

Redrose, I think you misunderstood lemony's post. S/he is not talking about an online English club but one in reality where people/students meet and chat.

I was dragged to one of those in HCMC by a friend I met. If my memory serves me right, it was near the Notre Dame Cathedral. I have to admit though, it was quite boring. Then a group came in and started singing "Sometimes" by Britney Spears. I was very impressed with the lead singer because when she sang, she did not have a hint of accent. I can't say the same about her normal speaking though. The singing helped becaused it eased some of the tension in the room.
