2 To become reduced in size by or as if by being drawn together

depend on what you wanan say, seeing you question i think you are talking about the 2nd one(To become reduced in size by or as if by being drawn together

between "condense"??

: To reduce the volume or compass of.
: To remove water from (milk, for example).

between "compress"??

: to press or squeeze together
: to minimize the space required for storage or
: compressed the file so that it could be downloaded efficiently


simple words : you forcefully try to reduce the size of a thing, thats when the word compress is used ( eg in compressing documents you use Winzip software)
