I saw this sentence in a book and seems wrong to me.

"Three people saw a man driving his motorcycle through the flower garden at City Hall."
Person to Person 1, Jack C. Richards, et al., Page 16
As far as I know we shouldn't use the verb "drive" for a motorcycle.
What do you think?

Why shouldn't?

How about then:

"Three people saw a man motorcycling through the flower garden at City Hall."

OR

"Three people saw a man motorcycling his motorcycle through the flower garden at City Hall."

I 'm sure you're thinking about the verb to ride. I don't know why they used drive there, but you know how language is :roll:

I just googled it and it's not totally wrong... Look what I found.

How do you learn to drive a motorcycle.
