Question about noun

Post by Aikuzo »

Hi, can I ask if all "subject" of a sentence are considered nouns? Im having trouble sometimes on distinguishing Abstract Verbal Noun vs Verb. Ex. "Its a long _run_"
Pls correct any errors you see on my writings on: nouns, tenses :)

It ~ empty subject
is ~ (verb) (copula)
long ~ an adjective
run ~ noun here

but run have about one hundred diferent meanings depending on either the context or phrasal prepositions or both.

Running on the ice cream the whole day long he made enough money to buy a new ball.

there are gerund forms which could be subjects as well.
Swimming is a nice sport.
swimming ~ gerund, subject
