Post by Aikuzo »

The Mom on the movie is trying to solve crossword puzzle while talking to herself, this is the exact line in the subtitle

Mom:
"Five letters for 'In line to get, maybe'."
"The Times thinks they're so clever."

I'm confuse, I just don't get any of these OR why she's saying any of these, help pls.
Pls correct any errors you see on my writings on: nouns, tenses :)

The crossword is probably in a newspaper named "The Times".

The clue is: "Five letters for 'In line to get, maybe'." Which means she has to find a word with 5 letters meaning "In line to get, maybe."

QUEUE ???

But can I ask the literal meaning of "in line to get, maybe" by itself? is she figuring out something that's in the line to get *something*, maybe..... -- ?
