limp-covered probably means "soft-covered" or "paperback", ie a book that does not have hard covers.

I have no idea what magda-seen means. This is not surprising as the sentence is not English. It is missing an article, probably a definite article:
  • He looked at the limp-covered book of Magda-Seen.
