Saw this in manga book: "I really think an emperor should be you"

Shouldn't it be "I really think the emperor should be you"?

or "I really think you should be an emperor"

Without some context it's impossible to say.

I agree. Any of the following sentences would be better:

I really think the emperor should be you.
I really think you should be an emperor.
I really think you should be the emperor.

Context: It's being said to one of the prince of the country.(1 of the 3 candidates to possibly become the emperor of the country) The one who said it is his personal servant.

So since I think they are talking about who should be the next coming emperor of their country(specific) - it must be "the".

Did I got it right though?

The following would also make sense in this context:
- I really think you should be the emperor.
- I really think you should be emperor.
