Hello,
Would you tell me the meaning of "A walking cane":

See me walking down Fifth Avenue
A walking cane here at my side
I take it everywhere I walk
I'm an Englishman in New York

(Sting)

Thanks.

A "walking stick" is a cane that a gentleman carries when strolling about.

New York gentlemen no longer do, but Englishmen in New York will carry a
cane, and sometimes an umbrella.

Does a fishing rod fish?
Does a swimming suit swim?
Does a flying jacket fly?

:)
