Hi,

When we talk about the possessive case of the non-living things, we need to use

'of the' form

like 'cover of the book is torn', etc.

this usage of 'of' is at times not clear, like should we use along with 'the' or not,
'of the' or only 'of'

Please give me more details, thank you.

You can equally say "The book's cover is torn."

"the" defines the particular thing you talk about, so it must be used with "of" as "of the", in my opinion.
