The present simple and the present continuous in the same sentence?

Post by Tukanja »

Hi,
in an informal dialog, a girl said to her colleague
1) Don't roll your eyes while I am speaking to you!

Would the below sentences be correct?

2) Don't roll your eyes when I speak to you!
3) Don't think to roll your eyes when I speak to you!
4) Stop rolling your eyes while I am speaking to you!

Thanks

2 and 4. I would expect to see 3 reworded to say something along the lines of, "don't even think about rolling your eyes while I am speaking to you!"

5) Don't even think of rolling your eyes while I am speaking to you!

My questions
a) Would the preposition "of" work here as well?

Thanks
