1) The whole incident has reflected badly on everyone involved.
Are there any other words that can be used in this sentence instead of reflected?
Thanks

2) The whole incident has brought shame upon everyone involved.

3) The whole incident has damaged the reputation of everyone involved.

Those are a couple of my thoughts, but I feel that your option is better!

4) The sentence isn't mine, I ran across it in a book.
5) The sentence wasn't mine, I'd run across it in a book.
6) The sentence isn't mine, I'd run across it in a book.

Which of these three should I use so as to continue this conversation? I'd like you rank all of them regarding the sequence of tenses.

In addition, In the mean time, I've got "impinge" on my mind. Is it possible to substitute reflected with impinge? Something like

7) The whole incident has impinged badly on everyone involved.
8) The whole incident has badly impinged on everyone involved.

Please rank 7) and 8) regarding the word order as well.

Thanks
