never

Post by hanuman_2000 »

Hello,

1. He never would have played football if he had known about the injuries.

I would like to know the all possible positions of the word 'never' in the underlined part of the sentence.

Could anyone please help me?

Thanks.

Hi hanuman,
The 'never' could also be placed after 'would' - "He would never have played football...". To my mind, having the 'never' in front of the the modal 'would' makes it a stronger statement. Hope this helps, Sue.
