lf I say "don't think about a black cat', you may find it difficult to not think about a black cat.

Hi,

I wonder whether the grammar of the words in bold is correct or not. I would say "not to think about a black cat".

Would anyone advise?

Thanks!

Your 2nd option is more idiomatic:

If I say "don't think about a black cat", you may find it difficult not to think about a black cat. :ok:
