Comma after "now," comma before "without"

What is the correct punctuation in the second sentence? Specifically,
1) Should there be a comma after "now"?
2) Should there be a comma before "without"? My instinct is to say no, because "without receiving any guidance on how to improve" seems like an essential part of the sentence. (i.e. The student is anxious because they're not receiving guidance on how to improve.)

"In my childhood, I had found pleasure in progressing towards goals at my own pace. Now I felt an anxious need to reach someone else’s standards without receiving any guidance on how to improve."
