Singular/Plural with "Pack" (eg. Cigarette pack or Cigarettes pack)?

Post by yohanc »

Hi, I'm kinda confuse with the singular/plural with the word "pack"

Can you guys help me solve this three singular/plural question?
1. Cigarette pack or Cigarettes pack?
since inside the "pack" there is like 12 Cigarettes (plural), so is it Cigarette pack or Cigarettes pack? can you give a simple explanation about this?

(P.S. I'm a GTA game modder, I want to write the correct grammar)
2. Weapon pack or Weapons pack?
in GTA5 game modding community, I saw some people actually use
Weapon pack and
Weapons pack
Which one is the correct one? Weapon pack or Weapons pack?

3. GTA Skins Edition or GTA Skin Edition?
The mod has bunch of skins (plural), so is it GTA Skins Edition or GTA Skin Edition? can you give a simple explanation about this?

Thank You

Hi Joe, Thank You for replying my question.
But I'm confused with the "cigarette pack" and "weapons pack" from your answer.
The "cigarette pack", it is without "s", but why the "weapons pack", it is with "s", considering both of the words using the word "pack" in the end. Can you give an explanation why it is "weapons pack" (the correct one) instead of "weapon pack"?
Thanks

But you are free to say cigarettes pack if you like. Nobody else does.

Strictly a cigarette pack is the packet only and a pack of cigarettes is the packet + cigs.

Like the difference between a coffee cup and a cup of coffee.

Don’t think too much. What you want is weapons pack and skins edition.
