To turn email notifications ON or OFF go to [Username] > User Control Panel > Board preferences > Edit notification options

That would depend entirely on the enigmas and how they were expressed on the list. Please share them.

You can postulate “the existence of flying saucers” but not “the existence of the Nazca lines”. (Just examples. You may have much more profound enigmas than these.)
