Can I use phrase gravity of people?

Hi. If I mean item of thing that attracks people into one place, can I use phrase “gravity of people”?

1. item of thing??? Do you mean: item OR thing?

2. Please give much more context, ie show the phrase in a sentence, or better still a paragraph.
