This is my one

Post by Brahman »

In the following video, between 9:52 and 9:55, and between 10:13 and 10:17, the narrator, who seems like a Britisher, and speaks British English, and has a British accent, says, "This is my one". Is it a dialectal variation?

Fairly normal British accent, no special dialect

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I am referring to the expression, "This is my one". Shouldn't it be "This is mine"?

Sorry, misunderstood.

"This is mine." :ok:
"This is my one." :ok:

Same, same really. "This is mine" perhaps emphasizes personal ownership a little more and may sound a little more aggressive.

But listen some more. She talks about some other "ones". For example, "This is the stripey one." And "this one", "that one".

And I'm not even sure that "my one" means "mine". Maybe it's a brand or model?? At some point I think she compares stripey one and my one?? Could be wrong. Sorry, I'm not a bag expert ;-)
