Mounting a direct challenge

Post by nikaar »

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows what this phrase "Mounting a direct challenge to the conclusion" mean?
I looked up the meaning of the word "mounting" and it means to support but it doesn't seem to fit in this context

Thanks

It seems to me "Mounting a direct challenge to the conclusion" has the following meaning: the conclusion was questioned. Maybe, the conclusion was incorrect or too quick, so it was questioned.
