Which one is correct?

Post by ozlembal »

I was looking forward to eating at the new restaurant or I was looking forward to eat at the new restaurant?

Why first one is correct? Can anyone explain the grammar behind it?

I was looking forward to eating at the new restaurant. :ok:

"look forward to" ends with a preposition

prepositions are followed by nouns

verb-ing is the noun form
