Quantifier

Post by McKinney » Mon Oct 08, 2018 1:34 pm

Hi Alan,

I can't decide what quantifier is used with "emissions". I know it is coutable and uncountable but if I had to choose in an exam, I couldn't answer.

The emissions are less.
The emissions are lower.
The emissions are fewer.

Thanks for your help. {-:

1. The emissions are less. :nok:
2. The emissions are lower. :ok:
3. The emissions are fewer. :ok:

1 is definitely wrong.
3 is possible but unlikely.
