The number vs A number

Post by litros »

Hi,

I am writing documentation.
Suppose, I have screenshot presenting some data
and I have to write text about it.

Is it correct to write:
a) The number of records of the checked table
b) A number of records of a checked table
c) Number of records of checked table

King regards

Hard to say without a bit more detail. It sounds as though a) might be right. b) and c) definitely sound strange. Please explain the context more fully and then we can comment intelligently ;)
