"so to speak"what does exactly this phrase mean

could you help me with the meaning of this phrase. i cant understand what it means in the following sentences.
The local Who shows the snow-topped mountains to the stranger Sells him, so to speak, the landscape
Very honored to be able to do that and I’ll “share the receipts” so to speak.

You can use this expression to show that what you have just said is an unusual or original way of saying something.

It is like the expression “in a manner of speaking”.
