Making Reference to Part in a Video

Post by Brahman » Wed Mar 20, 2019 3:43 am

Dear teachers,

YouTube videos show how long they are, i.e., for how long it takes to view them. When we are making reference to a particular part of the video, say, to an episode at 13-minute-and-4-seconds, how do we say that? Which of the following is grammatical and idiomatic:

1. The episode of killing is at 13:4 mark.

2. The episode of killing is at 13 minutes and 4 seconds.

Thank you.

I prefer the second tbh.

With the first one it needs the article "the"

"The episode of killing is at the 13 minute mark" or "The episode of killing is around the 13 minute mark"
