Hello,

I am not a native speaker…

I would like to ask if the phrase "that that the" is grammatically correct. I know that "that" can do many functions in a sentence, however, is the use of the article "the" after "that" in examples below correct?

What we found is that that the number of heavy metal bands in a given country is associated with its wealth and affluence.

In Appendix C, we show that that the number of inferrable facts for the Santa Fe processes follows a power law.

Thank you in advance,
Jon

Not correct. Clearly an error in both cases. It should be "that the".

What we found is that the number of heavy metal bands in a given country is associated with its wealth and affluence.

In Appendix C, we show that the number of inferrable facts for the Santa Fe processes follows a power law.
